Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant & Tax Associate who wants to grow their career with us. In this role, you will handle the day-to-day financial operations for our business clients—including bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax. You will also have the opportunity to expand your skills by preparing tax returns and assisting with high-level advisory services, such as budgeting and cash flow analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping & Payroll (Primary Focus):

• Manage weekly and monthly bookkeeping for multiple clients (bank feeds, reconciliations, categorization).

• Process full-cycle payroll, including new hire setup and benefit changes.

• Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) as needed.

• File monthly/quarterly Sales Tax returns.

• Tax Preparation & Compliance:

• Prepare drafts of annual tax returns for businesses (1065, 1120S) and individuals (1040) for review by the Managing Partner.

• Assist in running quarterly tax projections and organizing client tax data.

• Financial Reporting & "CFO" Support:

• Prepare monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L) and ensure general ledgers are clean.

• Assist in the creation of annual budgets and "Budget vs. Actual" reports.

• Help compile data for cash flow forecasts and annual tax plans.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in bookkeeping or public accounting.

• Tech Stack: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required. Experience with tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, ProConnect) is a major plus.

• Tax Knowledge: Basic understanding of tax forms; we will train you on the complex planning strategies.

• Mindset: You must be willing to do the "small stuff" (data entry/payroll) with the same attention to detail as the "big stuff" (tax returns).

Why Join Us?

• Mentorship: You will work directly with firm leadership and learn how to perform high-level CFO advisory and complex tax planning.

• Growth: We promote from within. This is a perfect role for a bookkeeper ready to become a full-stack accountant.
