At Discovery Kids Academy, we are committed to providing a nurturing, creative, and inclusive environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. We believe in the power of play-based learning and the importance of early education. We are currently seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team and help support our lead teachers in guiding children ages 3 to 5 through their daily learning experiences.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher with implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities
  • Supervise and actively engage with children during play, meals, and rest time
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
  • Support children’s social and emotional development through positive guidance
  • Observe and document children’s progress and behaviors
  • Communicate professionally with families and staff
  • Assist with classroom set-up, cleanup, and daily routines
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Previous experience in a preschool or childcare setting strongly preferred
  • Warm, patient, and enthusiastic personality
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must meet all local/state licensing requirements (e.g., background check, CPR certification, annual training)

Salary

$13 - $17 per hour
