A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide direct behavioral interventions to individuals, often children, with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Key responsibilities include implementing behavior reduction and skill acquisition plans developed by the BCBA, collecting data on client progress, maintaining accurate records, and participating in team meetings. RBTs use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to help clients improve social, communication, and daily living skills. Strong communication, patience, and observational skills are essential for success in this role.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Collect data on client progress and behavior
  • Assist with skill acquisition programs, including teaching communication, social, and daily living skills
  • Provide support during community outings and activities
  • Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to develop and modify treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of client sessions


Experience:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques is a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, families, and team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly on your feet
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others


Requirements:

  • 40-hour RBT training certificate
  • Must obtain a FL Medicaid Provider Number
  • Pass a level 2 background check
  • Training will be provided for qualified candidates who do not have prior experience in the field.
