The Role That Defines Results
At DFW Injury Lawyers, we don't just fight for our clients — we win for them. The negotiation table is where cases are decided, and we need a closer who knows that every dollar left on the table is a failure of justice for a deserving client.
As our Pre-Litigation Settlement Negotiator, you step in after our case managers and demand writers have built the foundation. The demand package is ready. The leverage is there. What happens next is entirely up to you.
You will go head-to-head with insurance adjusters trained to minimize claims, and you will win — through preparation, persuasion, and an unrelenting refusal to accept less than what the case deserves.
What You'll Do
- Lead all pre-litigation settlement negotiations with insurance carriers, adjusters, and opposing parties
- Dismantle low-ball offers using case facts, medical records, diagnostics, and treatment evidence to justify top-dollar settlements
- Review demand packages and case files to identify leverage points and build a compelling damages narrative before every call
- Collaborate with attorneys and case managers to sharpen positioning and close gaps before and during negotiations
- Manage a high-volume negotiation docket without missed follow-ups or stalled files
- Know when to escalate — internally or toward litigation — to unlock movement on stubborn claims
- Communicate proactively with clients, setting clear expectations and maintaining trust throughout the process
Who Thrives Here
You are not a paper-pusher. You are a strategist and a closer. The ideal candidate:
- Is results-obsessed — you measure success in dollars recovered and lives changed, and you hate leaving value on the table
- Prepares relentlessly — you enter every negotiation knowing the file: specials, liens, MRI findings, future care needs, pain impact, and more
- Is an evidence-led storyteller — you translate medical records, client testimony, and diagnostics into a compelling narrative that moves numbers
- Anticipates adjuster tactics and counters with data, medical evidence, and calculated strategy
- Stays calm under pressure, resets quickly after hard counters, and keeps momentum moving forward
- Maintains ethical judgment — you negotiate aggressively while upholding professional and firm standards
- Is a collaborative teammate who loops in attorneys and support staff when it strengthens the outcome
- Continuously improves — you track results, spot patterns in adjuster behavior, and refine your approach
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in personal injury pre-litigation negotiation, insurance bodily injury claims, or a related legal role
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law, damages, and case valuation
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical records and reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with legal case management software (or the ability to learn quickly)
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus
