Core Duties & Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Engagement: Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders by managing employee relations matters and providing coaching on school policies, conflict resolution, and performance management.

Leadership Development: Support the growth and readiness of leaders by delivering resources and guidance on professional development, enhancing their ability to lead effectively and drive school objectives.

Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure HR policies and procedures meet legal requirements and align with Destine Prep’s mission; identify any compliance gaps and work with school leadership to address them.

Talent Planning: Collaborate with leadership to develop talent planning strategies that include succession planning and career development to retain and grow internal talent.

Employee Engagement: Conduct stay and exit interviews, gather feedback, and recommend improvements to enhance employee satisfaction, morale, and retention.

Performance Management: Assist leaders with setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and conducting regular performance reviews to support a culture of continuous improvement.

Leave Administration and Employee Support: Act as the primary contact for employees regarding accommodations and leave requests, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations, providing guidance, and coordinating with leadership to support employee needs.

HR Administration & Document Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all HR functions, including employee accommodations, leave requests, and performance reviews, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.

Recruitment & Onboarding: Partner with the leadership team in recruitment efforts, including interviews, onboarding, and orientation for new employees, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Training & Development: Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and HR-related programs for staff to enhance professional growth, HR policy awareness, and school culture.

Special Projects: Participate in HR initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive culture, supporting Destine Prep’s commitment to being a great place to work for all employees.

Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership to support Destine Prep’s mission and foster a positive and productive school environment.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field from an accredited College or University, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, ideally within a nonprofit, school, or similar environment
- Experience with employee relations, coaching, and policy implementation required
- SHRM certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
