We are seeking a Director of Business Development to join our team. This position reports to the CEO and will work collaboratively with all stakeholders in the organization. Join our startup at the ground floor to lead our global business development and product strategy efforts. This role will collaborate with internal team members and external stakeholders in developing and implementing new business initiatives, industry partnerships, M&A efforts, and financing activities. Description

The Director of Business Development shall have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Lead development of business plans for pipeline products, potential acquisitions, and in-licensing opportunities, in close collaboration with product development, commercial, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, and clinical development
  • Conduct in-licensing and out-licensing discussions and develop business cases and ROI analyses 
  • Lead development of company’s international commercial strategy, including identifying and evaluating commercial partners, optimal partnership structures, and new business models for the US and international markets
  • Lead planning for, and potential execution of, telemedicine pilots for new market segments
  • Collaborate with commercial and finance on company financial projections, commercial strategy, reimbursement strategy, and growth areas in the US
  • Assist in future financing preparation and execution through management of investor presentations, data room, investor outreach, and engagement
  • Collaborate with senior executives in evaluating and pursuing M&A opportunities
  • Develop and manage new investor communications and materials, e.g. quarterly investor newsletter and ad hoc update calls
  • Collaborate with CEO and CFO on maintaining cap table and developing pro forma cap table scenarios



Requirements


  • At least 7 years of relevant commercial strategy, business development and/or product management experience, with a strong preference for management consulting or banking experience as well as operating experience at a life science or health tech firm
  • Preference for experience in dermatology or primary care, either for healthcare providers and/or health technology companies
  • Extensive experience developing business cases and financial modeling including HaaS/SaaS products
  • Experience in external partnership discussions and contracting
  • Preference for a degree in a business, finance, science or engineering discipline
  • Self-sufficient and able to work and make decisions independently, while also having a collaborative team-first attitude – maximizing team performance and value ideas on their merits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate with team members under pressure and iterate quickly
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
