DASS seeks talented, hard-working and organized Finance Directors for Secretary of State races in the 2026 cycle.

Description

The Finance Director will be tasked with overseeing every aspect of the race for Secretary of State on the ground through 2026. 


The Finance Director, in partnership with relevant consultants, advisors and team members, will develop, implement, and manage the finance plan.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Staff hiring and management for finance department
  • Handling of consultant communication and deliverables 
  • Drafting and execution of the finance plan
  • Work with campaign manager to accurately project goals to inform their budgeting plans
  • Manage a team that will include [finance assistant, call time manager, etc]
  • Other tasks as necessary


Requirements:

Ideal candidates will have at least one cycle of finance experience and proficiency in call time management, planning and executing fundraising events, candidate staffing, and organization. 


Candidates with significant experience managing staff or principles are strongly encouraged to apply. 


Additional sought after qualities: 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, NGPVAN, Numero, or other similar donor database experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions

While this position may be remote work initially, candidates should be prepared for the possibility of relocating to the state where their assigned campaign is based as the campaign progresses. Relocation expectations will be discussed during the hiring process.


Recruitment for this position has begun, but each campaign determines its own hiring timeline. This role may be filled quickly, or it could remain open for several months as campaigns build their teams.

$3,000 - $6,000 per month
