About this role:

As a Project Manager for DeJong Operations, you will drive successful project execution by listening to the customers, understanding their needs, and providing potentially game changing innovations. Working closely with our Director of Operations, Engineering team, and Project team, you will lead initiatives that design and implement cutting-edge process systems in food, pharmaceutical, and biotech facilities.


This position is a hands-on, role for a problem solver and self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit where your leadership and adaptability are essential. This is a customer-facing, high visibility role that requires the ability to coordinate teams, communicate with clients and vendors, resolve issues, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest standards.


What you will do:

  • Lead cross-functional project teams from kickoff to final delivery
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables
  • Conduct job site visits and lead project meetings, both virtually and onsite
  • Coordinate with clients and vendors to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and equipment
  • Interpret and work from Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical and architectural drawings, and site data
  • Estimate project costs during pre-sale and manage through execution
  • Ensure that all work meets Good Manufartoring Processes (GMP) standards, safety protocols, and quality expectations
  • Mentor and guide project engineers, technicians, and welders
  • Work remote, in office (Edgar,WI), and Travel 50-75%, mostly in the Midwest, with occasional national or international travel
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be eligible for international travel with a passport (e.g. travel to Canada)


What we are looking for:

  • An engineering or Project Management degree is preferred, but experience matters most.
  • Experience leading technical projects- ideally in industrial or sanitary environments
  • Strong understanding of processing systems, equipment, and construction practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with a high level of organization
  • High proficiency in project tools (Microsoft office, AutoCAD, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and in team settings with minimal supervision
  • Must possess a bias for action and the ability to go get the data or test the hypothesis when needed.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of current GMPs and Industry regulations
  • Familiarity with mechanical tools (Tape Measure, Calipers, etc.)
  • Previous hands-on experience in food, Pharmaceutical, or Biotech projects


Physical Requirements:

  • Willing to work longer hours when needed- both at a desk and on-site
  • Ability to lift 25lbs and move safely in industrial environments
  • Must be able to travel frequently, including overnight stays
