An effective Project Manager will be responsible and accountable for all project management and leadership disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the project management activities to ensure project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. Coordination is key here along with organization. While you may not personally execute every portion of a project, you will typically be the final accountability point monitoring, tracking, and ensuring that every phase is effectively executed. Having strong attention to detail is necessary to complete work as required, as well as possessing a good understanding of workflow throughout all the departments of the company and having pride in and taking ownership of all work performed.

Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Treat all fellow employees with respect.

  • Lead and coordinate project teams across various disciplines.
  • Problem-solve issues to complete resolution
  • Read and interpret P&ID’s based off of site visits or verbal instruction.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budget, and deliverables.
  • Complete all tasks in a safe manner while on-site or in the shop.
  • Estimate projects pre-sale and follow through into projects.
  • Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and customer satisfaction.
  • Have a good understanding of material and equipment within the processing field.
  • Ensure effective communication among project stakeholders
  • Complete tasks in the most efficient way without compromising quality.
  • Efficient with basic field tools: tape measure, level, caliper, square, calculator, and straps to name a few.
  • Lead project meeting, status meeting, and risk management sessions.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Stay up to date on current GMP execution and applicable regulatory compliance.
  • Effectively communicated schedules, budget, equipment, and deliverables with customers and vendors.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with all internal staff.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Assist with definitions and scope generation in the event of a change order.
  • Work well with a team with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure the working environment is clean and safe.
  • Having the ability to travel approximately 50%-75% of the time which will involve overnight stays. Mostly in the Midwest region of the U.S. but does include other parts of the U.S. and occasional international locations.
  • Must be able to acquire a Passport and maintain personnel background such that individual can enter Canada for contract employment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal personnel.
  • Must be able to maintain composure when under pressure and work with a team to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive, professional attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must be a self-managing individual that will take ownership of assigned project.
  • Bachelor's degree in project management/engineering/business administration is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the skill organizing information received and communicating back with DeJong group or other venders.
  • Proven working experience as a Project Manager or skills in installation of equipment in our industry.
  • Professional and effective in communication
  • Excellent knowledge of project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
  • Ability to work with multi-discipline projects.
  • Project management and supervision skills. Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred but not required
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Time management, budgeting, and organization skills
  • BS degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 12-16 hours a day.
  • Must be able to work from a desk 10-12 hours a day
  • Ability to walk, climb ladders, bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds in an industrial plant.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly in person or via phone.


Pay: Starting $75,000
