Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Treat all fellow employees with respect.
  • Show up to work on time and ready for work.
  • Show up to work with appropriate clothing.
  • Read and interpret project plan, P&ID’s and other written instruction to perform task at hand.
  • Perform GTAW (TIG) welding of sanitary tube/pipe of 300 Stainless steel under argon purge.
  • Complete all tasks in a safe manner and safely use all elevating equipment.
  • Selecting proper filler necessary for the weld performing.
  • Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and customer satisfaction.
  • Trained in using various hand and electric tools such as TIG welder, grinders, band saw, fisher saw, etc.
  • Complete tasks in the most efficient way without compromising quality.
  • Being self-motivated with instructions given from the lead/supervisor.
  • Using math and measurement skills, including the use of tape measure, calculator, calipers, squares, levels, clamps and straps.
  • Working well with a team with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure the working environment is clean and safe.
  • Reporting errors in product to lead/supervisor.
  • Communicate daily and/or weekly progress of installation with lead/supervisor.
  • Ability to travel approximately 90% of the time, which will involve overnight stays. Mostly in the Midwest region of the U.S. but does include other parts of the U.S. and occasional international locations.
  • Must be able to acquire a Passport and maintain personnel background such that individual can enter Canada for contract employment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.


Education / Work Experience:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal personnel.
  • Must be able to maintain composure when under pressure and work with a team to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive, professional attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must be a self-managing individual that will take ownership of assigned project.
  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be proficient in the skill of welding sanitary tubing using the GTAW (TIG) process, without the use of filler rod, while piping is under internal Argon purge.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 12-16 hours a day.
  • Ability to walk, climb ladders, bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds in an industrial plant.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly in person or via phone.
