blue montessori is a public, teacher-led one classroom Montessori school house located east of the river in the

historic Arts and Culture District of Anacostia in Washington, DC. blue montessori prioritizes the well-being of thewhole child—mind, body, senses, and spirit—with an emphasis on connection to nature. We are committed to

trusting, respecting, and empowering children to be active participants in their own education and being a space

where they can bring their whole selves every day. blue montessori is the second school in the DC Wildflower

PCS network. We will serve up to 30 PK3-K children when fully enrolled.

Your Role

The Montessori Primary classroom is a mixed age early childhood environment that supports PK3-K students. As

the Primary Assistant, you will be a critical member of our school community supporting classroom management,

the upkeep and replenishment of the Montessori prepared environment and reinforcing Montessori’s philosophy

of whole child education. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

● Remain Flexible around responsibilities

● Preparing and repairing curricular materials

● Maintaining an inventory of classroom materials

● Supporting with all aspects of the daily routine, including lunch, dishes, nap time, recess, bathroom

duties, and on-site classroom laundry

● Observing children and sharing questions and observations with teacher leaders

● Initiating growth and change in your own intellectual and professional development; participating in

opportunities for professional growth and learning

● Conference and intervention support

Experience

● Previous Montessori experience highly preferred

● If no Montessori experience, must be willing to complete a Montessori Assistant Training

● Experience supporting early childhood learners

● Experience supporting children in an inclusive classroom

Hours & Benefits

This is a full time position. Salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $45,000 -$ 56,000.
