Description:

We’re looking for a Plant Health Care Technician who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about tree and plant health. The ideal candidate will assist with the treatment, and prevention of plant health issues while supporting the Plant Health Care (PHC) program at David’s Tree Service, Inc. This role is critical in delivering science-based plant care solutions that help maintain the health, longevity, and beauty of our clients’ trees and landscapes.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide labor and technical support toward the completion of Plant Health Care (PHC) services.
  • Handle, mix, and apply pesticides and plant health care products in accordance with label requirements and safety regulations.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Plant Health Care Manager regarding treatment schedules, job progress, and plant health conditions.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of services performed, chemical usage, and job status.
  • Inspect and maintain PHC equipment, tools, and service vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pesticide storage area and vehicle.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or damage.
  • Safely operate plant health care equipment and hand tools.
  • Interact professionally with customers when present on job sites.
  • Attend training sessions, education seminars, and safety meetings as required.
  • Maintain clean and orderly job sites upon completion of work.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must possess a Department of Pesticide Regulation Qualified Applicator License (QAL) or Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) or obtain one within 60 days of employment.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English.
  • Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to occasionally work nights or weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency with basic math and measurements.
  • Ability to complete job reports and required documentation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and clients.
  • ISA Certification is a plus.

Compensation:

  • Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
  • Expected Hours: 40 per week
