Description

As a Content Marketing Writer with Datalily, you’ll get to combine your writing chops with research and data through creative storytelling at a fast-growing startup. The ideal person for this role is a storyteller and a critical thinker, and they're performance-driven, creative, curious, and self-motivated to succeed in a competitive startup environment.


Key responsibilities

  • Content writing and editing: Write and edit high performing content for use across marketing channels including industry trends reports, case studies, ebooks/guides, blog posts, promotional assets, social ads, etc., incorporating client feedback.
  • Content strategy: Understand the clients' goals across industries, create strategic content briefs, and help come up with creative ideas that align with client needs. 
  • Processes & quality standards: Establish content creation workflows (balancing for speed & quality), and create content quality standards to match client brand guidelines and expectations. Think of ways to improve our processes to exceed client expectations.
  • Content coordination: Manage content timelines, strategically assign pieces to freelance writers, or take them on yourself, communicate with internal/external stakeholders in project management systems, and deliver projects on time and on brief.


Requirements

  • You have 4-6 years of experience in content/editorial strategy or marketing.
  • You have exceptional writing, editing, communication, and storytelling abilities.
  • You have customer research experience and know that good content requires understanding your audience and constantly conducting research (interviews, sales calls, etc) to deepen your knowledge.
  • You have extremely organized project management skills, and you’re capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have a strong grounding in SEO best practices and tools.
  • You understand how to incorporate AI into content workflows strategically (and suss out hallucinations with strong fact-checking).
  • You have working knowledge of Google Suite.
  • (Preferred) You have experience with tools like Asana (or equivalent PM platform), Mangools/Ahrefs/Semrush (or equivalent SEO platform), and Figma (from a basic copywriting/content perspective).
  • (Preferred) You have content writing and editing experience at a high growth, software company, SaaS-facing agency, or startup.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in-person in our office space in the Greater Boston area.
