About the Position 

 

We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our accounting department. 


The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. You will also be assisting the Financial Controller and CEO/CFO as needed and responding to information requests by management and for auditing purposes. 


To be successful as Staff Accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, along with ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding Staff Accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Full understanding of Quote to Cash processing. 

 

Pre-Requisites  

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Project accounting experience a plus 
  • Knowledge of database and accounting computer applications systems to supply the most accurate financial information 
  • Strong MS Excel experience  
  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities promptly and consistently with little or no direct supervision 
  • 3-5 years of related experience in accounting or related fields  
  • Experience in Professional service industry (IT, law, medical, architecture, engineering, construction, etc.) a plus  
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration a plus 

 

Responsibilities / Job Functions  

  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts. 
  • Understand and manage all phases of Accounts Receivable cycle from billing to processing payments either as primary team member or back-up    
  • Understand and manage all phases of Accounts Payable cycle from PO receiving to bill paying either as primary team member or back-up 
  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes. 
  • Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections. 
  • Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits. 
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations. 
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines. 
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits. 
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP. 
  • Other accounting department duties as assigned by  the Financial Controller and CEO/CFO. 

 

Experience with Tools 

 

  • Preferred experience with Sage Intacct and Connectwise Manage 

  

Additional Notes  

  • Instill a level of professionalism and competency to the accounting and finance team 
  • Timely and accurately invoice billing statements to build and maintain a strong working relationship between company and its clients 
  • Maintain a level of professionalism and provide quality customer service whenever client interfacing is involved

$75,000 - $80,000 per year
