Dark Moss is a Florida-based landscape architecture and consulting arboriculture firm that blends design, planning, and tree science. The company works on projects across urban, suburban, and natural contexts, often at the intersection of development and ecological systems. Core Services Landscape architecture: site planning, planting design, grading, construction documentation. Arborist consulting: tree inventories, risk assessments, tree protection plans, appraisals, and permitting compliance. Natural resource and environmental permitting: guidance on regulatory processes involving trees, wetlands, and landscape integration.

Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage landscape architecture projects from concept through construction
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and interns
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Design Florida-Friendly and/or LEED Certifiable Landscapes
  • Conduct site visits and manage construction administration
  • Develop project goals, work plans, and team organization in Airtable and Asana
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design reviews
  • Prepare and review consultant agreements and project correspondence
  • Develop planting plans, hardscape details, material selections, and other related design solutions
  • Guide visual design and produce illustrative graphics
  • Maintain project quality control and compliance with standards
  • Produce cost estimates and review contractor submittals
  • Maintain licensure and pursue continuing education


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture from an accredited program
  • Florida Licensed Landscape Architect
  • 5+ years of professional experience, including some project leadership
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe InDesign
  • Experience with LandFX, Sketchup, and ERP Platforms (Dark Moss uses Unanet AE)
  • VERY STRONG KNOWLEDGE of FLORIDA plant materials, construction methods, and site detailing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and communicate effectively with team members and clients
  • Ability to handle interruptions from clients and teammates with grace
  • Experience with streetscapes, transportation corridors, or infrastructure projects is a plus

Salary

$95,000 - $120,000 per year
