The Therapist’s primary responsibility is to provide individual and/or couples/relationship/family therapy services. The Therapist is expected to work independently and establish good client retention. In this capacity, you will perform duties and responsibilities that are reasonable and consistent with such position as may be assigned to you from time to time. Such duties are outlined below.
Responsibilities of the Full Time Therapist:
- Client Care and Therapy Sessions
- Conduct a minimum of 24 therapy sessions per week, unless otherwise discussed [expectation upon reaching full caseload].
- Facilitate individual therapy sessions, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and create personalized treatment plans that address clients' mental health challenges.
- Offer a safe, stigma-free environment for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.
- Treatment Planning and Intervention
- Collaborate with clients to set realistic, achievable treatment goals, and monitor progress over time.
- Utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, mindfulness practices, and psychoeducation, to provide effective treatment.
- Regularly evaluate and adapt treatment strategies based on clients' feedback and therapeutic outcomes.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records, including session notes, assessments, and treatment plans, in compliance with DTS and ethical standards.
- Collaborative and Ethical Practice
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals when needed to ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Follow ethical guidelines and legal standards set by relevant licensing bodies to uphold client safety and confidentiality.
- Embody DTS’s values of diversity, authenticity, empathy, and safety in all client interactions and therapeutic approaches.
- Professional Development
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the mental health field to continuously enhance therapeutic interventions.
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development opportunities to strengthen clinical skills.
- Actively seek consultation or peer support for complex cases to ensure the highest quality of care.
- Additional Duties
- Participate in duties or projects that support DTS’s mission, vision, and values, as may be assigned by your supervisor.
- Promote a welcoming, inclusive therapeutic environment for clients from all backgrounds.
- If a psychologist, administer Psychological Assessments
- Conduct standardized cognitive, personality, and behavioral tests.
- Test Scoring and Data Entry: Accurately score assessments and input data into electronic records while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Maintain Testing Environment: Set up and organize testing materials, ensuring a comfortable and distraction-free environment for clients.
- Client Interaction and Support: Communicate test instructions clearly and support clients throughout the testing process, answering any questions within scope.
- Report Preparation: Assist in the preliminary preparation of client reports by organizing data and summarizing test scores.
- Compliance and Quality Control: Follow ethical and procedural guidelines in test administration and scoring to maintain high standards in client care and data reliability.
