We are looking for a visionary and technically strong AI/ML Strategist & Architect with a PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field. This individual will be responsible for shaping the AI strategy across CyberHill’s portfolio companies, building technical roadmaps, and architecting scalable ML-driven solutions that enhance cyber defense capabilities. This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical acumen, entrepreneurial thinking, and strong business alignment.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and lead the AI/ML vision across CyberHill’s portfolio, identifying high-leverage opportunities for innovation.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to portfolio company leadership teams on AI/ML investments and talent acquisition.
- Architecture & Design
- Architect scalable, secure, and explainable AI/ML models tailored to cybersecurity domains (e.g., threat detection, anomaly analysis, behavior modeling).
- Design reference architectures for deploying AI in edge, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Execution & Enablement
- Develop proof-of-concepts, oversee model development and validation, and guide implementation best practices.
- Enable portfolio teams with reusable tools, MLOps infrastructure, and AI governance frameworks.
- Research & Innovation
- Stay at the forefront of academic and industry advances in AI/ML, particularly in adversarial AI, LLMs in cyber, and autonomous defense systems.
- Cultivate partnerships with academic institutions, think tanks, and technology incubators.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience applying AI/ML to real-world problems, preferably in cybersecurity, defense, or critical infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and ML ops platforms.
- Deep understanding of model interpretability, adversarial ML, and secure AI practices.
- Experience with deploying AI systems at scale in enterprise or cloud-native environments.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Active security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in private equity, venture capital, or high-growth startups.
- Prior work on cyber threat intelligence, SIEM optimization, or autonomous response.
- Familiarity with LLMs, graph learning, reinforcement learning, and real-time inference pipelines.
