Cuyamaca Animal Hospital is an independently owned practice, utilizing Fear Free techniques for our patients. We have 2 dental suites with digital dental x-ray, ultrasound for collecting urine samples, in-house lab including Imagyst, separate feline only area, and comfort suite.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during dental examinations and procedures, including performing dental x-rays and extractions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian, including placing IV catheters
- Perform diagnostic tests, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and other laboratory procedures
- Maintain accurate dental and medical records, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Assist with surgical procedures and post-operative care, including monitoring anesthetized patients
Requirements:
- Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic, with experience in dental procedures and drawing blood preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, dental procedures, and venipuncture techniques
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners
- Ability to lift and restrain animals as needed
- Experience in Fear Free techniques and handling rabbits and rats considered a plus
