Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Independent Contractor

CU Therapeutics, LLC | Chandler, AZ (Outpatient & Community-Based)

Pay: $16.00–$21.00 per hour, paid as a flat daily rate of $128–$168 per day (based on an 8-hour day) | 1099 Contract

About Us

CU Therapeutics is an outpatient behavioral health clinic in Chandler serving children, teens and adults across the East Valley. We help clients build real-world skills to manage emotions, communicate, and grow more independent at home, at school and in the community.

About the Role

We're looking for caring, dependable Behavioral Health Technicians to provide skills training and support to our clients. You'll work under the clinical oversight of a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP), carry out each client's treatment plan, and see the difference your work makes week to week.

What You'll Do

- Provide one-on-one and small-group skills training in outpatient and community settings, including in-home

- Teach coping, communication, social and independent living skills

- Follow each client's individualized treatment plan under BHP direction

- Recognize signs of distress and use de-escalation techniques

- Document sessions accurately and within 24 hours

- Work with families, caregivers and the treatment team

- Protect client privacy in line with HIPAA

What You'll Need

- High school diploma or GED

- Valid Arizona Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (or willingness to obtain one)

- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)

- Valid Arizona driver's license and reliable transportation

- 18 years of age or older

- Patience, reliability and a genuine desire to help others

Nice to Have

- Experience with children, teens, SMI, autism or developmental disabilities

- De-escalation training (CPI, MANDT)

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or a related field

- Bilingual (Spanish/English)

What We Offer

- Competitive pay of $16.00–$21.00 per hour ($128–$168 flat daily rate), based on experience

- Full daily rate paid for any day with 5 or more hours of service

- Paid twice a month, on the 1st and 15th

- Flexible caseload: full, part-time or PRN
