Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the compounding of sterile injectables in multiple dosage forms, including

but not limited to vials, syringes, infusion bags, and other sterile delivery systems.

• Oversee and manage the implementation and operation of automation and

technology used in the compounding process according to USP standards.

• Provide direct supervision and control of sterile compounding personnel engaged in

preparation, aseptic manipulation, packaging, labeling, and related compounding

support functions.

• Oversee nonsterile-to-sterile compounding processes for injectable preparations,

including review of formulation rationale, component suitability, sterilization

approach, filtration methods, endotoxin risk, and required sterility testing.

• Ability to communicate effectively with pharmacists, technicians, prescribers,

leadership, and regulators.

• Ability to lead with a patient-safety-first mindset and strong professional judgment.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to work in cleanroom and controlled compounding environments for

extended periods.

• Ability to wear required garb and PPE and perform duties requiring fine motor skills

and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow personal hygiene and other requirements established by USP for

working in a controlled, cleanroom environment.

• Prescription order entry and verification

Qualifications

• PharmD or equivalent professional pharmacy degree from an accredited school of

pharmacy.

• Active California pharmacist license in good standing.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to work in cleanroom and controlled compounding environments for

extended periods.

• Ability to wear required garb and PPE and perform duties requiring fine motor skills

and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow personal hygiene and other requirements established by USP for

working in a controlled, cleanroom environment.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift supplies and materials consistent with pharmacy

operations.
