About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the modernization of a mission-critical government information system. In this role, you'll automate deployments, manage infrastructure, and help migrate enterprise applications from on-premises environments to AWS.

You'll work with GitLab CI/CD, AWS, Apache Solr, Nexus Repository, and Windows Server environments to improve system reliability, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate deployments across development, test, and production environments.
• Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management.
• Develop infrastructure as code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Build and maintain Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper.
• Administer Windows Server environments and support infrastructure upgrades.
• Plan and execute migrations from VMware-based infrastructure to AWS.
• Configure and manage AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3.
• Support containerization of Java applications.
• Implement configuration management and infrastructure automation.
• Apply security best practices across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Monitor and optimize system performance.

Required Qualifications

• 13+ years of professional DevOps, Systems Administration, or related IT experience.
• A Bachelor's degree may substitute for 4 years of experience.
• A Master's degree may substitute for 6 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience managing Nexus Repository.
• Experience building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper.
• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Strong experience with AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating applications from VMware to AWS.
• Experience containerizing Java applications.
• Experience with configuration management tools.
• Experience implementing security best practices in hybrid cloud environments.
