As Associate Director, Youth and Community Programs, you will lead a growing program serving over 500 youth annually, with a focus on young people with disabilities from middle school through transition age. You will design inclusive arts education programs, build community partnerships, manage a team of teaching artists and program staff, and steward the grants and contracts that make this work possible. You’ll be part of CE’s Leadership Team, shaping the future of youth programming.

We manage art studio spaces in the Mission and Potrero Hill neighborhoods.

Job Title: Associate Director, Youth and Community Programs

Classification: Full-time, exempt

Compensation: $77,000 - $80,000 annually

Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k with employer match, paid vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, life and disability insurance

Location: 1 Arkansas Street and 3245 16th Street, San Francisco, with frequent travel to partner program sites

Schedule: Monday through Saturday; hybrid with minimum 60% on-site

What You’ll Do

  • Implement and continuously improving inclusive youth arts programs, including camps, school-day and out-of-school-time programs, and community tours
  • Hire, train, and supervise program staff, including Youth Teaching Artists and Youth Program Associates
  • Develop partnerships with schools, nonprofits, regional centers, and community organizations
  • Play a leading role in managing government and foundation grants and contracts, including budgets, compliance, and funder relationships
  • Oversee program operations, including sites, safety, supplies, and transportation logistics


What You Bring

  • 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in youth arts education or youth development
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • 2+ years managing government or foundation grants and contracts
  • Experience creating and managing program budgets
  • Strong communication, project management, and data skills
  • A person-centered approach and connection to CE’s mission


Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, arts administration, nonprofit management, or related field
  • Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Experience designing youth development or arts education programs
  • Experience developing collaborative programming with community partners
