We are seeking a dependable and motivated Stage Hand / Audio Support Technician to support live productions, events, and performances. This role is responsible for assisting with stage setup and teardown, operating technical equipment, supporting audio systems, and ensuring productions run smoothly and safely. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, technically inclined, and able to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
The Stage Hand / Audio Support Technician will assemble and disassemble stage sets before and after performances while assisting with the loading and unloading of equipment, props, scenery, and production materials. This position is responsible for coordinating scene changes during rehearsals and live productions and assisting with the setup and teardown of staging, lighting, and technical equipment. The role also includes operating sound and lighting equipment during rehearsals and performances, supporting microphone setup, and assisting with stage audio needs.
Additional responsibilities include installing and managing audio signal routing and patching systems, assisting with the design and installation of sound systems, and troubleshooting signal flow and connectivity issues. The technician will maintain organized and functional audio equipment systems and inspect, maintain, and repair stage equipment, props, and audio gear as needed. Maintaining stage cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all safety procedures during stage operations is also an essential part of the role.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in theater, live events, stage production, or audio support preferred. Applicants should have a basic understanding of stage operations, sound systems, lighting equipment, and technical production environments. The ability to safely lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, along with knowledge of audio signal routing, patching, microphones, and sound systems. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are important for success in this role. Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of remaining calm and focused in fast-paced live production environments.
This position works in theaters, concert venues, event spaces, and other live production environments where exposure to loud noise, moving equipment, and changing schedules is common. Team members should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively to support successful rehearsals, performances, and events.
