About the Role

We’re seeking a strong, experienced Event Head Chef to lead back-of-house operations at off-premise catering events. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for executing high-quality food, managing teams, and owning culinary success on-site.


You will serve as the on-site culinary decision-maker, working closely with the Event Manager to deliver seamless, high-level events.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and direct BOH staff at events, ensuring organized and professional execution
  • Execute menus based on BEOs and Executive Chef Culinary Notes with consistency and attention to detail
  • Own event timelines — ensuring food is prepped, finished, and served on schedule
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Event Manager on timing, service flow, and changes
  • Adapt quickly to shifting timelines, guest counts, and event conditions
  • Delegate effectively and ensure team alignment throughout service
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and temperature
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times
  • Oversee kitchen setup, execution, and breakdown in off-site environments
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems in real time


Leadership & Growth Expectations

  • Act as the on-site culinary leader and decision-maker
  • Lead through delegation, communication, and organization — not just personal output
  • Take full ownership of BOH execution regardless of team strength
  • Collaborate with FOH while maintaining control of kitchen operations


What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of kitchen leadership experience (Sous Chef or higher)
  • At least 1 year of off-premise catering experience in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Ability to manage timelines and adapt in real time
  • Solid understanding of food safety and off-site kitchen operations
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification required
