We’re looking for a dependable and experienced Diesel Mechanic to help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. This role is hands‑on and essential to our daily operations. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems across trucks, heavy equipment, and support vehicles.

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and electrical systems
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance (oil changes, filters, brakes, tires, fluids, etc.)
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify issues before failures occur
  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage
  • Perform DOT‑compliant inspections and ensure equipment meets safety standards
  • Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation
  • Work with fleet managers and drivers to prioritize repairs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assist with occasional roadside repairs

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, emissions systems, and hydraulics
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic codes
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools (scan tools, multimeters, etc.)
  • Experience with air brake systems, DEF systems, and after‑treatment components
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with fleet maintenance software is helpful

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical school or diesel technology certification preferred
  • 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience (fleet, heavy equipment, or truck repair)
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus
