Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing complex system infrastructures, strongly emphasizing virtualization, cloud computing, and system security. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead system projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the integrity and efficiency of our clients’ IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Implementation:

• Design, deploy, and manage server and storage infrastructures to meet client requirements.
• Configure and optimize virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations and standard operating procedures.

Security & Compliance Management:

• Implement and manage security solutions to protect system integrity.
• Monitor system security measures and respond to incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with the security team to enforce policies and compliance standards.

Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Utilize system monitoring tools to assess performance and identify potential issues.
• Troubleshoot complex system problems and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct regular assessments to ensure system reliability and efficiency.

Project Leadership & Collaboration:

• Lead system-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system solutions with business goals.
• Mentor and guide junior system engineers and support staff.

On-Call Escalation Support:

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide high-priority escalation support for critical system incidents outside regular business hours.
• Respond promptly to urgent system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution.
• Document and analyze incidents to improve future response strategies and system resilience.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on virtualization, cloud computing, and system security.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in configuring and managing virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong understanding of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and system security practices.
• Experience with system monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.

Certifications:

• Relevant certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. Standard work days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
