ABOUT THE POSITION
The Account Planner is the hub between our customers’ business, brand creative, and media strategy. The role leads cross-functional creative teams by building comprehensive strategies, annual plans, and campaigns / brand moments that lead to great media and creative, delivering best-in-class work. The Account Planner is an extension of our brand partners, identifying opportunities to continuously improve our campaigns, capitalize on opportunities, and translating our partners current needs and proactively thinking about their future. This position would join the kick ass core team of the agency and is pivotal to its growth by immersing yourself into our partner’s industry and challenges, to better lead agency teams in proactively developing solutions to impact their business first and foremost.

EXPERIENCE
- Agency experience managing activities across a range of client services (project management, media stewardship, creative execution and activation, billing, etc.)
- Ability to juggle and organize multiple timelines and projects, and prioritize tasks and deadlines
- Experience managing a budget
- Understand the vital role of ROI/Impact to steward the brand plan and media strategy
- Experience leading weekly client and internal team status meetings along with creating corresponding status reports
- Familiarity with and/or willingness to master digital workflow management platforms (Asana, Slack, etc.)
- A keen eye for anomalies and red flags with the confidence to alert the team of potential (or existing) roadblocks in project
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Collaborate with brand partners and team to develop brand strategy, creative platforms, annual plans (brand, media, social, etc.), campaign calendar, and brand performance monitoring.
- Process incoming AOR project requests & campaigns
- Develop and manage agile and hybrid project timelines and workback plans
- Manage and communicate expected deliverables & milestones
- Monitor project timelines using dependencies to identify bottlenecks and create actionable plans to keep projects moving
- Address bottlenecks, adjusting timelines as needed
- Reinforce the use of agency processes and drive projects forward using established workflow tools
- Communicate with contributors and vendors by assigning tasks, supplying resources (files, briefs, timelines)
- Brief teams and ensure they’re well informed of context and strategic goals
- Ensure creative team members adhere to timelines & deliverables through check-ins and status updates in advance of deadlines
- Coordinate availability & assignments with creative team members
- Manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
- Partner with Producers to QA/QC creative work prior to sharing with clients
- Collaborate with internal team in hosting and leading client meetings
- Write and present project status reports for the team
- Lead reporting on timelines, status, and deliverables updates
- Anticipate and act on ad hoc client needs in a timely manner
- Provide follow up and next step details to client and internal teams
- Ensure every task is fed into our project management system
- Provide production and logistics support when needed
- Control and monitor the budget and expenses of a project including:
- Report continually on hours spent on projects per team member and assign to their respective tasks
- Track expenses for relevant projects (this may be in cooperation with Producers)
- Adjust processes to reflect cost-saving measures
- Other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years’ industry experience in agency account leadership
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; a concentration in advertising, marketing and/or communications is a plus
- Strong recommendations from prior role(s)
- Exceptional computer, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Understanding of design, web/digital, and video production workflows
- Stellar organizational and time-management skills
- In-office, based, in Lexington, KY
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- $55-75k salary depending on years and type of experience; i.e. if you have little experience but great promise, we will start you on the lower end of this range and help develop you into the role. As your experience grows, so will your salary.
