Description

Production Director

Miami Gardens, FL | Full-Time

Reports To: Experience Pastor

Leads: Campus Production Coordinator & Weekend production volunteers (FOH, ProPresenter, lights, cameras, broadcast as applicable)

Overview

COOL Church is seeking a Production Director to lead weekly production excellence at our primary campus while supporting consistency across our growing multisite operation. This role is designed for a hands-on leader who loves both people and systems—someone who can run smooth Sundays, build strong volunteer teams, and maintain reliable workflows that help every campus win. This position is not expected to be a multisite “technical architect.” Instead, you will own primary campus execution, maintain templates and standards, and provide scheduled support to other campuses through training, documentation, and coaching.

Primary Responsibilities

1) Primary Campus Service Excellence (Own the Sunday)

  • Lead production execution for Sunday services and key events at the primary campus (audio, ProPresenter/graphics, lighting, video/broadcast support as needed).
  • Run pre-service readiness checklists and confirm systems and volunteers are prepared before doors open.
  • Coordinate service flow, transitions, and cue alignment with Worship and Creative leadership.
  • Troubleshoot live issues calmly and quickly; document follow-ups for improvement.

Technical Ownership (Standards + Readiness)

  • Maintain and standardize approved show files and templates (audio console scenes, ProPresenter templates, lighting presets, and broadcast presets as applicable).
  • Lead weekly Sunday readiness checks and ensure all production systems are tested and service-ready before doors open.
  • Track technical issues, document solutions, and drive root-cause fixes to prevent recurring problems.
  • Coordinate a scheduled preventative maintenance rhythm and maintain a simple inventory of critical consumables and spares.
  • Train and certify volunteers on standard workflows, troubleshooting basics, and service execution expectations.

3) Volunteer Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, schedule, and develop production volunteers at the primary campus (FOH, ProPresenter, lights, cameras, stage support).
  • Support training pathway execution (training nights, checkoffs, coaching) using church SOPs and standards.
  • Build a team culture marked by unity, joy, excellence, and spiritual maturity.

4) Multisite Support (Coaching + Templates, Not 24/7 On-Call)

  • Provide structured support to other campuses through:
  • shared templates and weekly workflows
  • volunteer training resources
  • scheduled coaching / campus visits (monthly or quarterly as directed)
  • Review post-service notes from campus teams as assigned and help address recurring issues through better processes and training.

5) Broadcast & Message Delivery (As Applicable to Your Setup)

  • Support reliable livestream execution at the primary campus (if part of your weekly model).
  • Help ensure message delivery workflows are clear and repeatable (playback prep, testing checklists, and communication).

6) Vendor & Contractor Coordination (Within Scope)

  • Coordinate vendors/contractors for repairs, routine maintenance, or scheduled upgrades as directed.
  • Gather quotes, document issues, and communicate needs—while leadership handles major negotiations/contracts.

How to Be Successful in This Role

  • Sundays are smooth, prepared, and distraction-free at the primary campus.
  • Volunteers feel supported, trained, and scheduled consistently—no last-minute panic every week.
  • Standards (templates, checklists, prep workflows) reduce mistakes and create consistency across campuses.
  • You fix issues fast—and then eliminate root causes through better systems and training.
  • You embody COOL Church values and build a culture that people love serving in.

Performance Measures (What We Track)

  • Sunday Readiness: weekly checklists completed before doors open.
  • Service Disruptions: ≤ 2 production-related disruptions/month (within role scope).
  • Volunteer Coverage: 85–100% of critical roles filled weekly.
  • Weekly Prep: ProPresenter/media/service files finalized by agreed deadlines.
  • Maintenance Rhythm: weekly checks completed; monthly log submitted.
  • Multisite Consistency Support: campuses using current templates/checklists; coaching touchpoints completed as scheduled.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2–4 years of church or live-event production experience.
  • Strong competency in at least one key lane (FOH audio, ProPresenter, lighting, video/broadcast) with working knowledge of the others.
  • Ability to lead volunteers with clarity, joy, and accountability.
  • Organized, dependable, and calm under pressure.
  • Comfortable documenting systems and using checklists/SOPs.
  • Alignment with COOL Church mission and staff values.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting multiple venues/campuses.
  • ProPresenter power-user; livestream workflows; basic systems troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Planning Center, scheduling tools, or project management tools.

Culture Standards (COOL Church Values)

  • Aware – you anticipate needs and stay present.
  • Disciplined – you plan ahead and steward time well.
  • Committed – you show up consistently and fight for excellence.
