Overview

COOL Church is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Facilities Technician who takes pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments. This role supports the day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness, and operational readiness of our church campus so that every service, ministry event, school activity, and guest experience reflects excellence. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solves problems proactively, and understands that facility excellence is ministry.

Primary Responsibilities

Facility Care & Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the campus.
• Troubleshoot and address basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and equipment issues.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs to keep building systems functioning properly.
• Report major repair needs and assist with vendor coordination when necessary.

Cleaning & Campus Readiness

• Maintain cleanliness throughout classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and ministry spaces.
• Empty trash, restock supplies, and ensure facilities remain guest-ready throughout the week.
• Support floor care, disinfecting, and general custodial responsibilities.
• Ensure all church environments meet COOL Church cleanliness standards.

Event & Ministry Support

• Assist with room setups and resets for services, meetings, school functions, and special events.
• Arrange tables, chairs, equipment, and ministry resources as needed.
• Support weekend and special event readiness.

Safety & Stewardship

• Identify and address potential safety hazards.
• Maintain proper handling and storage of chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Help ensure the campus remains secure, organized, and well maintained.
• Practice good stewardship of church property and resources.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic maintenance and custodial experience.
• Ability to use hand tools and maintenance equipment safely.
• Ability to lift, move, push, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Alignment with COOL Church mission and values.

Preferred

• Experience in church, school, commercial, or facility maintenance environments.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general building systems.
• Experience working with outside vendors and contractors.
