About this Role

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the principles of protection, that will allow them to think independently, make constructive recommendations for program improvements, and problem solve quickly. We are looking for a customer service-oriented individual that is diligent, detail-oriented, proactive, works well both independently and in a team, and has demonstrated excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
As with all CAI roles, qualified candidates must have the highest level of professionalism, common sense and ability to competently operate in a continually evolving environment. Military veterans, retired law enforcement and correctional officers are strongly encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the overall safety and security of critical sites, employees, vendors and visitors.
- Provide a first layer defense against active threats, trespassers, and unauthorized persons on site.
- Work in partnership with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, military units and local, state and government agencies.
- Respond to active shooter incidents, medical emergencies, trespassers and other similar type incidents.
- Provide access control and the monitoring of entrances, exits, perimeters, and surrounding areas.
- Through roving patrols, monitor vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Ability to conduct traffic control as needed.
- Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations.
- Maintain a professional work environment which provides the highest level of customer service while maintaining the highest level of safety and security. Be proactive.
- Operate a motor vehicle in a safe and legal manner.
- Ability to work shifts ranging between 8 - 12 hours a day.
- Represent CAI at the highest professional level.
- Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Conduct ongoing threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments at assigned sites.
- Comply with and enhance role related policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and to adapt to various work-paces while always maintaining a high-level of attentiveness and energy.
- Exercise sound operational judgment and flexibility to shifting priorities and challenges.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Minimum 10 years of law enforcement or military experience.
- Tactical experience – SWAT, CRT, high risk warrant execution, patrol rifle etc.
- Must possess a valid BSIS guard card and Exposed Firearm Permit.
- Must be clean cut and physically fit.
- Familiarity with AR15/M4 and shotgun platforms
- Must be a proactive problem solver with the capability to work independently and in a team environment. Customer service and attention to detail skillsets are a must.
- Experience working at critical sites, at critical incidents, in and around sensitive information and technology and/or in high stress environments.
- Maintain highly sensitive and confidential information and abide by NDAs
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, direct and concise manner.
- Have a proven history of strong leadership, teamwork and organizational skills with the ability to communicate (both verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner.
- Exercise sound operational judgment and flexibility to shifting priorities and challenges.
- Be in good overall physical, mental and emotional condition and adhere to company grooming standards.
- Maintain highly sensitive and confidential information and abide by NDAs

- Successfully pass initial and periodic background and drug screening.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must possess a good understanding of basic technology including smartphones, communications platforms and collaboration apps and their use while in the field.

Desired
- Bachelor’s degree or higher education.
- Valid California Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) license or LEOSA eligible preferred
- Training in defensive tactics, defensive driving, EVOC, and all surveillance platforms.
- Paramedic or EMT certifications
Compensation
- $40 per hour
- Paid training opportunities for PSOs after 1 year of employment.
