Schedule: Overnights between 11pm to 3am (Flexible nights 3 to 5 days a week)


The security drone operator job involves using drones for surveillance, patrolling, and monitoring in order to protect people and property. Key responsibilities include flying drones, analyzing footage, maintaining equipment, and responding to security threats by coordinating with other security personnel or law enforcement


Responsibilities

  • Operate drones: Fly drones to monitor, patrol, and survey areas such as critical infrastructure, large events, or private properties.
  • Surveillance and monitoring: Use the drone's camera and sensors to monitor live video feeds, identify suspicious activity, and gather intelligence.
  • Data analysis: Analyze security footage and other data collected by the drone for security purposes.
  • Incident response: Respond to security alerts in real-time, which may include tracking individuals or vehicles.
  • Maintenance and reporting: Perform pre-flight checks, maintain the drone and its equipment, and prepare detailed incident reports.
  • Counter-drone measures: May involve operating counter-drone systems to prevent unauthorized drone activity.
  • Coordination: Communicate with security personnel, law enforcement, and other stakeholders during an incident. 


Skills and qualifications

  • Remote pilot certification: A valid certification (e.g., FAA Part 107 in the United States) is often required.
  • Technical expertise: Proficiency in operating drone control software, GPS navigation, and surveillance systems is essential.
  • Regulatory knowledge: A strong understanding of local aviation regulations and privacy laws.
  • Attention to detail: The ability to notice subtle details in video feeds and data is crucial for identifying threats.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving: Ability to analyze situations, identify threats, and determine the best course of action.
  • Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and other authorities. 


Salary

$15 - $18 per hour
