We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings, including clinics and inpatient units. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with psychiatric disorders, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine patient needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
  • Administer medications and monitor their effects on patients, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols.
  • Provide health coaching and education to patients and their families regarding mental health issues.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Utilize Cerner or similar electronic health record systems for documentation and patient management.
  • Engage in airway management as necessary for patients with acute psychiatric needs.
  • Participate in the care of patients in specialized units such as Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) when required.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to occupational health standards and protocols.

Skills

  • Strong background in behavioral health with a focus on psychiatric care.
  • Proficient in medication administration and monitoring for side effects.
  • Ability to lift patients safely as needed during assessments or interventions.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
  • Familiarity with clinical settings, particularly in managing psychiatric conditions.
  • Knowledge of health coaching techniques to empower patients towards recovery.
  • Experience with airway management techniques is a plus.
