PawPrints Spay/Neuter Clinic is under the 501c3 umbrella of Companion Animal Welfare Alliance. Our focus at our Clinic is spaying/neutering as many free-roaming cats as possible. We only alter cats, so no dogs, and most of our cats are in traps.

Description

Our Vet Assistants are responsible for assisting the veterinarian, vet technicians, and other clinic staff with exams and administering vaccines and other treatments. They are an important part of a veterinary healthcare team and make sure the spays/neuters run smoothly and that patients receive the care and attention they need while at our clinic.


  • Weighing cats that come into the clinic
  • Sterilizing equipment as needed
  • Cleaning and setting up the examination rooms
  • Restraining animals during exams or vaccinations
  • Calming and caring for upset or scared animals
  • Keeping tabs on the health and wellbeing of animals coming into the clinic and reporting concerns to the veterinarian or vet tech
  • Helping veterinarians and veterinary technicians during emergencies
  • Assisting vet techs during anesthesia
  • Helping veterinarians and vet techs in the surgical suite
  • Completing the medical and exam form in it's entirety before surgery is performed by the veterinarian


We are only open on the weekends so weekend availability is a must. You must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working directly with cats.


Salary is $22-25/hour dependent upon obtaining drug handling certificate.
