SUMMARY:
The Program Manager provides oversight and supervision for CIS Memphis school-based programming across multiple sites. In this role, you'll directly supervise Student Support Specialists and maintain critical relationships between school leaders and CISM staff. The position requires strong analytical skills to interpret data and make programmatic decisions, the ability to juggle competing priorities across several schools simultaneously, and the leadership presence to coach staff, negotiate partnership agreements, and drive measurable student outcomes. You'll report to the Director of Analytics and Data Management and play a key role in scaling our impact across the community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Student Support Specialist/Coordinator Supervision:
- Under the supervision of the Director of Analytics and Data Management and/or Human Resources, support the hiring process of Student Support Specialists
- Supervise and evaluate CIS Memphis Student Support Specialists assigned to your program area:
- Schedule and coordinate regular team meetings
- Develop a system for weekly communication with Student Support Specialists
- Implement coaching tools designed to support Student Support Specialists
- Develop and implement an annual staff development plan for Student Support Specialists
- Implement processes and controls for Student Support Specialist supervision, performance reviews, arbitrations, and terminations
- Provide salary/bonus recommendations for Student Support Specialists to the Director of Analytics and Data Management
- Support Director of Analytics and Data Management with orientation and training as needed for Student Support Specialists and affiliate staff working with CIS Memphis schools
Program Supervision:
- Provide day-to-day oversight of CIS Memphis school-based programming with
- Oversight of the development of school support plans for each school site under your supervision annually that meets the approval of the school principal, and the Director of Analytics and Data Management
- Supporting staff in the development of programs and activities to increase parent/caretaker involvement according to goals established by CIS Memphis
- Ensuring all requested reports are accurately completed and submitted on a timely basis to meet the reporting needs of CIS Memphis
- Maintaining appropriate associations to ensure the effective implementation of the CIS program in your assigned school sites
- Managing overall communications and relationships between school leaders/staff and CIS staff
- Oversight of school-based budgets
Program Administration:
- Work with the Director of Community Partnerships and Program Development to seek, negotiate, and maintain partnership agreements to secure needed social, educational, vocational and cultural resources and services for CIS Memphis schools.
- Attend required CIS staff meetings and training events, and other meetings as requested by the Director of Analytics and Data Management.
- Perform other duties as determined by the Director of Analytics and Data Management for the successful operation of the program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in social work, social sciences, education, or a related field
- 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in the nonprofit field
- Experience with Communities In Schools preferred but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with education, health and human services in Memphis
- Able to work independently, meet deadlines, work under stress, be resourceful and function as an effective team member
- Flexible and able to recommend programmatic changes in response to feedback from diverse constituents
- Valid TN driver's license
- Pass a criminal background check
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to analyze and prioritize activities
- Can work independently without constant supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Will require light lifting
- Must be willing to travel, as job requires
HOURS:
This is a 12-month position. Working hours are generally 8:30 - 5:00 p.m., however it is expected that the Program Manager will work additional hours as necessary depending on programs and events planned and will have a flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend activities.
