We’re currently searching for a Retail Media Planner to help us accelerate the climb for the national CPG brands we serve.

The Retail Media Planner acts as an agent of the entire paid media process for Common Good, collaborating with the agency's Media Supervisor, Director, Ad Ops, Creative Directors, and Strategists. This person will research, create, traffic, and otherwise execute paid media plans for Common Goods clients. They will also serve a role in research, analysis, audience profiling, planning, negotiation, buying, trafficking, campaign management, tracking, measurement, and reporting. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in the Retail Media or Shopper Advertising industry with solid referrals.
We’re looking for a natural leader who will be instrumental in developing strategies, planning, and ensuring proper implementation of retail advertising programs to convert shoppers into buyers and exceed client goals. In our data-driven world, it’s important you use strong analytic and technical knowledge as a sharp edge.
Responsibilities:
- Elevating our CPG investment outcomes and boosting our visibility in the retail media sphere. This includes forging strategic alliances with retail media teams (like KPM or Walmart) to surpass our media performance benchmarks.
- Championing the growth of our expertise and comprehension of the dynamic retail media environment, spreading this knowledge throughout our organization.
- Formulate a strategic perspective on retailers as invaluable media and data sources, setting in place effective processes and best practices for our brands to utilize. Work with our internal teams to craft well-rounded recommendations with clearly defined KPIs and success criteria.
- Craft and implement activation strategies and plans to influence shopper behavior in the retail marketplace. Adopt an integrated approach to paid media, ensuring a powerful, unified impact.
- Initiate retail media programs through tactics spanning traditional, digital media, promotion, redemption, and search. This candidate will be hands on keyboards for retail programs.
- Institute best practices and create comprehensive guidelines for retail media, focusing on optimizing performance.
Mandatory Skills
- Experience working with partners like Walmart Media Group, Kroger 84.51, Roundel, Instacart, iBotta and Amazon Advertising.
- Experience leading the activation experience with Digital Media and Retailer Paid Search.
- Retailer, Agency, or CPG Media planning and execution experience preferred.
- Results/Performance Driven Core Strategic Foundation to create short- and long-term value for consumers, shoppers, and customers to drive profitable growth for the company.
- Analytic capability to seek and leverage data and knowledge in the areas of consumer and shopper insights, customer understanding, categories and brands, brand building, sales and finance.
- Strong written and verbal communication and data presentation skills.
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen (e.g. Sales, Share, ROAS/ROI).
- Core strategic understanding of full media landscape, with focus on retail media Understanding of media and retail partners, technologies and platforms Media Operations (Budgets, Reporting, Billing, etc.)
- Comfortable planning and buying across digital programmatic, social media, streaming radio, paid search, and online video, TV, print, OOH, experiential, and radio.
- Determine the best use of media mix across all media channels and content.
- Create strategic media plans, RFP and negotiate with vendors, manage campaign flow charts, and be proficient in trafficking assets across all tactics.
- Negotiate the best rates with advertising partners and create value-adds for clients when possible.
- Working knowledge of advertising metrics such as impressions, clicks, click-through rate, conversions, reach, frequency, wear-in, wear-out, and cost per conversion.
- Familiarity/experience with third-party research providers like Kantar, Comscore, and MRI.
- Evaluate and utilize audience targeting, scheduling, geography, and budget efficiently.
- Contribute to reporting, traffic measurement, and ROI analysis alongside Analysts and other team members.
- Help manage billing and invoicing processes, working with agency Media Supervisor, Director and Director of Finance.
- A personal active interest in the health & wellness lifestyle category
- Strong skills in Keynote, Google Slides, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Detail-oriented with strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Nice to Have Skills and Responsibilities:
- Manage ad serving, tracking, and retargeting for digital campaigns.
- Experience with digital campaign management tools, including ad-serving, tracking, and traffic analysis.
- Experience using and placing social media advertising.
- Knowledge of digital media, including search, SEO, SEM, mobile, programmatic, video, etc.
- Knowledge of DSP use and strategies.
- Good understanding of mathematical concepts for statistical analysis.
Requirements:
You have at least 5 years of experience in an agency, retail or CPG media setting and possess strong planning/buying skills, and a resume full of well-run campaigns. You have experience, know the best practices in the media world, and keep up with current trends. You want to learn more about digital and how to use big data in the real world best. You are tenacious, meticulous, detail-oriented, want to grow, and can confidently present your ideas to both Common Good and clients.
Work Environment:
- This is a full-time position and employees must be available to work during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, in Mountain Time. Occasional travel or evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Compensation:
