The Martinsburg VA Medical Center is seeking a full‑time Urologist to join our dedicated surgical and specialty care team. This is a stable, mission‑driven federal position providing comprehensive urologic care to Veterans across the Eastern Panhandle region. This role offers a balanced mix of clinic, procedures, and OR time, supported by a strong clinical team and modern surgical facilities. On‑call responsibilities are home‑based and primarily involve triage, with occasional return‑to‑hospital needs.

Description

Clinical Scope & Procedures:

The ideal candidate is comfortable performing a broad range of urologic procedures, including:

  • TURBTs
  • TURPs
  • Stone procedures
  • Vasectomies
  • TRUS biopsies
  • Scrotal surgeries
  • Foley catheter placements (including return‑to‑hospital needs)
  • Management of infected stones
  • Additional general urology procedures as clinically indicated
  • No trauma cases


Team & Facility Support:

  • 1 Physician Assistant in clinic
  • 2 Urology nurses supporting outpatient care
  • 5 OR rooms available
  • Anesthesia support provided
  • Dedicated OR block time: typically, 1 full day per week
  • On‑call: from home, ~10 calls per month
  • Primarily triage
  • Occasional return for Foley placement or urgent urologic needs


Clinic & Inpatient Responsibilities:

  • See approximately 13 patients per day in clinic
  • Perform screening consults
  • Manage inpatient urology consults
  • Provide continuity of care for Veterans across outpatient and inpatient settings


Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Completion of Urology residency training at a U.S.‑accredited program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
  • Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (any state accepted)
  • U.S. citizenship required (per VA hiring regulations)
  • Strong commitment to Veteran‑centered care
