Overview

Color Me Mine Upper West Side is looking for friendly, reliable, and hardworking Studio Associates to join our team. This is a hands-on role that supports both front-of-house guest experiences and back-of-house studio operations. We're especially interested in candidates who are excited to learn ceramic processing, glazing, and kiln room operations as part of their growth within the studio.

Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Front-of-House Operations

  • Welcome guests and provide exceptional customer service
  • Assist customers with pottery painting techniques and studio processes
  • Support reservations, walk-in seating, and guest flow
  • Host birthday parties, events, and group gatherings
  • Promote studio offerings, classes, memberships, and special events
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming studio environment

Ceramic Processing & Back-of-House Operations

  • Learn and assist with glazing customer pottery
  • Support kiln loading and unloading procedures (training provided)
  • Prepare ceramics for customer pickup, including sanding, finishing, and packaging
  • Organize completed orders and maintain processing workflows
  • Assist with inventory, restocking, and shipment processing
  • Help maintain kiln room cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
  • Support overall studio operations during busy periods

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, food service, or a similar fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Comfortable balancing customer-facing responsibilities with operational tasks
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Weekend availability is required, including evenings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with ceramics, pottery, or kiln operations
  • Experience glazing, ceramic processing, or studio production work
  • Interest in learning kiln room operations and ceramic finishing processes

Schedule

  • Part-time position
  • Evening and weekend availability is required
  • We are looking for team members who can consistently work 3–4 shifts per week

Compensation & Benefits

  • Typical earnings: $19.50–$23.00 per hour, including tip share and base hourly pay
