At Cogniac we are looking for an experienced System engineer to join us at Cogniac alongside the most passionate engineers & technology experts at the top of their fields. The System Engineer is responsible for ensuring the Cogniac platform integrates effectively and efficiently with customers’ end-to-end manufacturing and industrial systems and interfaces with the surrounding hardware and software ecosystem to generate solutions for customers' visual inspection tasks.

Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other engineers, partners, Solution Engineers, and the broader cross-functional team to ensure system requirements and plans meet business and customer needs
  • Manage system requirements and the requirements decomposition process; guide the development of high-level functional and physical architectures and system specifications for the customer solution.
  • Manage systems integration and test activities, system verification, and system validation
  • Lead the development of project and systems engineering best practices, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure engineering quality through the application of best practices in systems engineering


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing software applications
  • Extensive experience with Python development
  • Experience with C# or Python, TCP/IP networking, Linux, Microsoft operating systems desired.
  • Experience working with systems and support engineering as a team
  • Experience in integrating different system components, protocols, etc. (e.g., discrete IO), desired
  • Experience with different communication and controls system protocols (e.g., Ethernet IP, ProfiNet, etc.), desired
  • Experience with revision control systems like GitHub, CI/CD unit testing, and configuration management systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated, driven individual who takes full ownership of solving problems


Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical field or equivalent experience
  • Masters of Science in Engineering or related field, desired
