As an Engineer II, you will be applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate shipboard radio communications systems.

As an Engineer II, you will be applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate shipboard radio communications systems. This position will be responsible for providing technical expertise to support the customers’ requirements, mission, and objectives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Evaluates performance metrics for each system/component in accordance with defined requirements.
  • Applies state-of-the-art techniques and industry best practices for designing, developing, modifying, and troubleshooting technical solutions
  • Develops a working knowledge of codes and standards of other disciplines.
  • Follows established technical procedures and instructions.
  • Coordinate cross-disciplinary work on moderately complex projects.
  • Performs related work as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
  • Supports the organization’s overall culture, goals, quality standards, and leadership philosophy.

Required Skills and Education:

 

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited institution in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • At least three years of experience in performing engineering functions related to military C4I Systems (shipboard radio communications systems experience preferred)
  • Solid understanding of IP networking and RF theory
  • Experience integrating shipboard communications systems supporting voice, video, and data applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper handling and utilization of Government Furnished Information (GFI), including but not limited to Cable Block Diagrams, Cable Running Sheets, Cable Installation/Interconnection Drawings, and Installation Requirements Drawings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of military and commercial communications protocols
  • Experience developing test modules in LabView is highly desirable
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
