We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Lead Pilates Instructor to join our studio family. This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Pilates and helping others improve their lives through health and fitness. If you are a professional Pilates instructor with at least 2 years' experience teaching Pilates who is energetic, friendly, willing to learn and mentor others, build relationships with potential and existing clients, sell classes and lead dynamic apparatus focused workout routines (we use Balanced Body reformers, EXO chairs, TRX, spring boards, ballet barre and more), you’ll be a great addition to our team. We are looking for a lead instructor with confidence in working with all level of clients to provide challenging, fitness-based Pilates classes in a safe manner. Club Pilates offers blocked scheduling and shifts, the ability to teach multiple level classes, club membership, continuing education, employee status (not independent contractor), room for growth and a supportive & fun environment!

Description

Purpose:

The purpose of the Lead Pilates Instructor is to lead and mentor the Instructor team in providing safe, effective group Pilates instruction in accordance with all Club Pilates guidelines and expectations. The Lead Pilates Instructor is an exemplary example of this and ensures that all instructional staff within the studio are abiding by brand standards. The Lead Pilates Instructor also collaborate with the studio management team managing the studio class schedule, assisting with sub requests, and maintaining the Pilates equipment to ensure safe operation.


Qualifications: 

  • 450-500 hour comprehensive Pilates education (Minimum education to include; Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Springboard)
  • At least 2 years’ experience teaching Pilates
  • Deep understanding and alignment with the Club Pilates methods
  • Up to date CPR training or willingness to obtain
  • Demonstrate anatomical knowledge and focus on safety
  • Pleasant demeanor and excellent customer service skills
  • Experience teaching 6 or more participants in an apparatus-based group class
  • Demonstrated group Reformer instruction abilities
  • Professional and effective communication skills
  • Proven public speaking skills
  • Proven Sales Abilities
  • In depth understanding of the benefits of Pilates and what sets Club Pilates apart from other Pilates studios
  • Willingness to evolve with new developments in the fitness industry, specifically Pilates

  • Proficient in (or ability to become) ClubReady software for managing the instructor / class schedule, verifying / updating time clock logs for the instructor team, and general daily in-studio use (i.e. class check-ins, point of sale purchases)
  • Proficient in (or ability to become) Prospr software for communicating with the management and instructor team consistently on a daily (and often hourly) basis, publishing and maintaining the instructor / class schedule keeping the Prospr and ClubReady class schedules in sync, and general daily use in and out of the studio (i.e. supply request and maintenance request tickets, providing instructor team resources)


Essential Duties: 

  • Maintain open availability for a minimum of 15 hours (4 shifts) per week
  • Participation in monthly Lead Instructor conference calls and subsequent training of staff in regards to topics covered on these calls
  • Manage studio schedules and ensure class types, times, levels and instructor schedules are ideal to maximize occupancy and client satisfaction. Collaborate with management team to gather / understand client feedback and ensure General Manager can align front desk schedule with class schedule changes
  • Manage instructor sub requests and adjust schedule accordingly. Find coverage for sub requests or sub classes yourself when emergency and/or escalated sub requests occur.
  • Ensure that all images posted on social media sites reflect proper form and safety standards and are in alignment with Club Pilates standards
  • Regularly inspect equipment for damage or wear and make recommendations to management about updates
  • Stay up to date with, and implement Club Pilates education standards at all times
  • Track and review the other instructors for proficiency and performance monthly
  • Provide mentorship to instructors to ensure their teaching is up to Club Pilates standards
  • Provide Private Training Assessments as scheduled
  • Plan and provide client workshops
  • Plan and execute instructor workshops based on client feedback within the studio
  • Provide Pilates instruction to include Intro classes, group apparatus classes, private and semi-private training pursuant to Club Pilates standards
  • Must be skilled at proper and safe use of a variety of equipment during each class, including, but not limited to, hand weights, ExoChair, Reformer, Springboard, TRX, Magic Circle and other equipment as needed to ensure a safe yet creative group experience
  • Visually inspect the equipment prior to the beginning of class to ensure equipment is in good working order and safe to use
  • Responsible for studio tidiness and returning equipment to standards set by studio management
  • Must arrive at a set time prior to the beginning of each scheduled class or private/semi-private session
  • Participate in networking/community events as needed and studio promotions to generate new business
