The Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) is seeking an Accessibility Manager to oversee accessibility service provision at most Festival events across Cleveland (like film screenings, panels, industry events, receptions, and lounges). Services include captioning and assistive listening for film screenings, CART services for live events, adjustments to the built environment, and sensory accommodations. As part of the Guest Services team, the Accessibility Manager will quality test services, record instances of use, and provide detailed assessments of services while identifying areas for growth. Preferred candidates are those living with disability.

Principle Duties

  • Staff collaboration, including:
  • Utilizing assigned CFS tools and applications, like AirTable and Slack
  • Participating fully in meetings and training as assigned
  • Collaborating productively with CIFF staff and volunteers
  • Addressing conflicts proactively inside of CIFF’s pathways to resolution
  • Collaborating on accessibility initiatives across departments
  • Performing additional duties as assigned
  • Festival planning, including:
  • Overseeing accessibility services and equipment already in place, including caption and assistive listening devices, CART services, and courtesy mobility aids
  • Receive advance requests for service and accommodate guests accordingly
  • Quality test technical equipment in collaboration with Tech teams
  • Festival execution, including:
  • Attending Guest Services team meetings and regular check-ins, communicating openly and collaborating freely
  • Corresponding with staff regularly via Slack, radio, and in-person communications
  • Managing requests and communications with all attendees and especially attendees requesting accommodation
  • Keeping record of service usage and areas for improvement or expansion
  • Troubleshooting accessibility challenges for guests as they arise
  • Booking additional accessibility services as needed
  • Consulting on guest service enhancements across the Festival
  • Distributing and utilizing supplies and equipment as assigned
  • Liaising frequently with Venue Operations and Box Office teams
  • Delivering frictionless data to Guest Services staff
  • Post-Festival documentation, including:
  • Documenting departmental procedures alongside Operations Director
  • Returning equipment and supplies to storage and organizing as assigned
  • Providing post-Festival notes, feedback, and reports
  • Participating in an exit interview as scheduled


Skills, Experience, Qualifications

  • Experience living with disability (preferred)
  • Experience providing customer service (required)
  • Working knowledge of support for people living with disabilities (required)
  • Strong initiative, sense of urgency, and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • High level of comfort handing pressure and understanding deadline-driven environments
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organization, planning, and productivity skills
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and long days during scheduled Festival events
  • Ability to move between venues (accommodations available)
  • Working technical aptitude, including proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, Mailchimp, and virtual meeting platforms


Working Conditions

This position may require prolonged sitting, standing, and frequent moving during working hours. (Accommodations available.)


Location

Cleveland Film Society staff work in a mostly remote environment, with increasing time on site(s) as the Festival approaches. Festival events will occur at Playhouse Square, Idea Center, Cedar Lee Theatre, and other sites as scheduled. Candidates should be geographically based in Greater Cleveland by March 2026 for pre-Festival training, site visits, and preparatory work.

This position does not offer benefits. The earnings are subject to Self-Employment Tax and no deductions will be made on your behalf. This job is not eligible for any cost reimbursements related to the contracted work unless otherwise arranged. You will be issued an IRS Form 1099.

Salary

$3,200 - $3,200 per year
