The role of the Senior Technical Designer is responsible for creating and maintaining fit standard and quality across all production throughout the product lifecycle. This position will work closely with design to ensure accurate translation of design into quality product. Using a critical eye for detail to ensure garments are manufactured to specification and guidelines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ownership of developmental and production comments for all RTW and handbag styles
  • Ensure garments fit properly
  • Approving grade rules once PP is approved
  • Direct communication and management with vendors
  • Accurately measure samples
  • Lead fit sessions with design on live model to make necessary fit corrections
  • Ownership of Quality Control for bulk samples
  • Working with calendar to ensure deadlines are met
  • Manage an average of 20-30 monthly styles drops 
  • Consistently improving technical design department and fit


MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Technical Design department, setting direction and priorities across all RTW, swim and handbag development
  • Lead and continuously improve technical design processes, standards, and workflows across the department
  • Oversee and manage a Technical Designer, including day-to-day workload, training, and performance


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of garment construction
  • Proficient in illustrator, MS excel
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbally) to team members and vendors
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to identify fit issues and present options to solve issues
  • Time management
  • Pattern making knowledge
  • At least 8-10 years of technical design experience
  • Experience in working with factories overseas
  • Experience in women’s contemporary fashion
  • Experience with wovens, dresses, blouses, and sweaters (denim and swim a plus)

Salary

$100,000 - $110,000 per year
