Key Responsibilities
- Research seasonal trends, vintage references, runway collections, color, fabric, print, embroidery and emerging market opportunities.
- Translate creative concepts into commercially viable designs that reflect the brand aesthetic and target customer.
- Support the development of seasonal concepts, mood boards, color palettes, print direction, fabric stories, and design presentations.
- Create seasonal prints, yarn dye and embroidery and make necessary changes throughout the season.
- Design women’s apparel across categories, including small portion of sweater, handbag and swim
- Create detailed CADs, colorways, print placements using Adobe illustrator and/or photoshop
- Prepare clear and accurate design tech packs, including construction details, artwork placement, color callouts, trims, and finishing instructions and update BOM if needed.
- Work closely with Technical Design, Product Development, Production, Merchandising, and overseas vendors throughout the development process.
- Review and comment on prototypes, lab dips, strike-offs, embroideries, trims, and development samples.
- Attend fittings and provide thoughtful design feedback related to proportion, silhouette, construction, and overall appearance.
- Maintain seasonal calendars, design files, fabric and trim references.
- Work closely with marketing and support seasonal Ecomm photo shoot.
- Manage multiple projects and overlapping deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Identify potential development issues early and communicate solutions clearly to the appropriate partners.
- Incorporate feedback with an open and collaborative approach while continuing to bring forward a strong creative point of view.
- Stay informed about competitor activity, retail trends, customer behavior, and relevant cultural influences.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience designing women’s apparel.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrication, fit, color, print, and apparel development.
- Strong illustration, sketching, and CAD skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Ability to create clear, detailed, and factory-ready design specifications.
- Experience reviewing print strike-offs, lab dips, embroidery samples, trims, and garment prototypes.
- Strong understanding of seasonal development calendars and the product development process.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, adaptable, resourceful, and receptive to feedback.
- Strong taste level with the ability to balance creativity, brand relevance, and commercial needs.
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing dresses and fashion-driven women’s apparel.
- Strong knowledge of print, pattern, embroidery, and special surface techniques.
- Experience working directly with overseas factories and vendors.
- Familiarity with vintage fashion, designer archives, and contemporary runway and market research.
- Experience developing both seasonal statement pieces and versatile commercial product.
