Job Summary:


We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to collaborate with our engineering and construction partners. The ideal candidate will have a background in biorefinery, petroleum, or chemical industries with experience in construction-driven engineering, ensuring designs are safe, cost-effective, and innovative. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and constructing the demonstration facility, including tanks and vessels. Your experience in mechanical engineering and project management will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of our projects.


Responsibilities:

• Designs mechanical products and systems by using proven and unconventional sound engineering principles and concepts. 

• Evaluates and designs mechanical systems and products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials and by the use of computer software available when possible. 

• Collects data, analyzes and summarizes information and trends for the use of developing future equipment in our specific processes.  

• Provides sound engineering information or advice by answering questions and requests.

• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

• Keeps equipment operations by coordinating with maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services. 

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing team related goals and results as needed.  

• Monitors and enforces, along with other project teams, CleanJoule’s safety and OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and site visitors.

• Develops and implements action plans and solutions to address equipment or safety deficiencies. 

• Reviewing drawings, documents, and equipment datasheets to meet future and current plant needs and assures compliance to corporate standards and specifications.

• Coordinating the work of in-house designers and outside engineering contractors.

• Participating in area HAZOP reviews and incident investigations.

• Managing multiple projects and assignments in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner and identifying areas in which the company can be more economical.

• Applying project management skills in all phases of project engineering from conception to closeout developing scope, cost estimates, and schedules for projects.

• Provides discipline input and equipment selection oversight to engineering projects.

• Interacting daily with project team members developing and executing project objectives.

• Participates in factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests.

• Participates in commissioning and startup activities, including loop checking and calibration of instruments and analyzers.

• Conferring with management and project stakeholders throughout a project’s life cycle.

• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:


• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.  

• At least 5 years of experience working in the mechanical engineering field with petrochemical experience or plant construction preferred. 

·   Ideal candidates with a background in biorefinery, petroleum, or chemical industries are highly encouraged to apply.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical design or engineering software.

• Knowledge of operation of AutoCAD or Solid Works. 

• Project management experience preferred.

• Experience working with third party EPC and Engineering partners.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.


Physical Demands: 


Frequent lifting and moving of items up to fifty (50) pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, prolonged standing or sitting may be required. Must have safe work habits and perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies and practices.
