Job Description: 


We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. As an Accounting Manager, you will actively support the Finance team’s efforts in managing and overseeing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and analysis, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:


Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting


Under minimal supervision, will oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, purchasing, and payroll ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, generally accepted accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.


Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of the company’s financial statements.


Support and assist in the development of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure the integrity of the company’s financial information.


Work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.


Assist with the annual financial statement and government accounting audit.


Ensure reconciliation of Bank accounts and other financial accounts.


Coordinate payroll activities by supporting Human Resources and Finance with processing payroll and other employee sponsored fringe benefits to ensure compliance with laws and tax obligations.


Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations and legislation.

Lead, manage and monitor the purchasing activities of the accounting clerk by providing day-to-day supervisory guidance and support as needed.

Qualifications:          


Education, Experience, and Knowledge:      


Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.


A minimum of three (3) years of experience in finance or accounting roles.


Experience with public company accounting is highly preferred.


Strong knowledge of financial report interpretation and analysis.


Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically advanced skills in Excel).


Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and patterns.


Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.


Experience in accounts receivable and payable management, purchasing, and payroll.


Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.


Prior experience successfully participating in work teams where personal accountability, attention to detail, collaboration, and results is essential.


Physical Demands:


Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small to medium parcels, packages, and other items, to walk short distances, and drive on occasions to pick up materials/items. This position is described as sedentary exerting up to 5 to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  This is a position with repetitive motion requirements. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer monitor, and extensive reading. Must have safe work habits and perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies and practices. This position may occasionally require the use of eye protection.
