Clarity Counseling is a California-based, online-only, insurance-accepting mental health group practice. Our mission is to reduce suffering as efficiently as possible — through focused, evidence-based therapy that produces real change, not indefinite support. Clinicians here work directly with the owner, get paid for every hour they work, and inherit a full caseload from day one. We take burnout seriously enough to measure it monthly. The Role

The first therapists we hire will inherit an existing caseload. You will have 15–17 active clients from your first week or two — no cold outreach, no waiting to ramp up. Clients are adults presenting primarily with depression, anxiety, and related concerns. All sessions are via telehealth to clients physically located in California.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual, family, and group therapy via HIPAA-compliant telehealth
• Complete session documentation within 24 hours using SimplePractice
• Complete treatment plans within one week of intake; revise every 90 days
• Administer PHQ-9 or GAD-7 at every session to track client progress
• Attend paid monthly all-hands: clinical training, team connection, case discussion

Compensation

• Base rate: $30.00/hour for all hours actually worked — clinical, administrative, and meetings
• Session bonuses: $8–$21 per completed session depending on CPT code and your experience tier
• Tier 1 (0–5 yrs post-licensure): ~$43,288 annualized at full load
• Tier 2 (5–15 yrs): ~$44,665 annualized at full load
• Tier 3 (15+ yrs): ~$46,502 annualized at full load
• Specialty add-on bonuses available for Coherence Therapy, TEAM-CBT, EMDR, and IFS
• Tier is assigned at hire from your BBS license date — documented in writing, no negotiation required

What This Job Is — and Isn't

This is a W-2 employee position, not a 1099 contractor role. You can hold other employment as long as it does not conflict with your scheduled client hours — the requirement is availability and reliability for your clients, not exclusivity. Documentation timelines (24-hour notes) are a firm standard, not a guideline.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted California license in good standing (LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC)
• Private, soundproofed workspace with reliable internet
• Comfort with EHR platforms and basic telehealth troubleshooting
• Commitment to 24-hour documentation turnaround

Preferred:

• Experience with adults presenting with depression or anxiety
• Training in CBT, DBT, Coherence Therapy, TEAM-CBT, EMDR, or IFS
• Prior insurance-based or productivity-tracked clinical setting
