CADD TECHNICIAN II, FULL TIME 


Help bring lighting and electrical designs to life through clear, accurate drafting and modeling that supports impactful projects in the built environment. 


ROLE OVERVIEW 

We are looking for a CADD Technician II who is excited to build their career in CADD and contributing to real projects with solid drafting experience from day one. In this role, you will support project teams by performing drafting and design tasks using a variety of CADD and productivity software, and create models, plans, and construction details under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers. 

This role exists to help project teams produce accurate, consistent documents to Clanton’s high drafting standards. It is a strong fit for someone who is passionate about design details, eager to keep learning new tools and techniques, and motivated to solve problems in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, team-based environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Create plans, details, diagrams, models, and construction details for a wide variety of lighting and electrical projects using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit. 
  • Use and help develop graphic standards that support consistency and clarity across project deliverables. 
  • Develop skills toward performing quality control reviews of drawings and documents. 
  • Take ownership of project deadlines and maintain a strong commitment to quality. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with project managers and designers in a team-based environment. 

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 

In your first 6 to 12 months, success in this role will mean producing accurate drafting and modeling work that supports project teams, asking strong questions to understand project requirements and end results, and consistently meeting deadlines with a high standard of quality. You will be a dependable contributor who communicates clearly, stays organized across assignments, and continues expanding your technical capabilities with Clanton’s tools and standards. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Associate of Applied Science degree in CADD, or a CADD certificate. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical hands-on CAD experience using AutoCAD, MicroStation. 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation or ArcGIS. 
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings. 
  • Willingness to independently learn new software and tools. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with active listening skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively in Clanton’s hybrid model based in Boulder. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation creating working models, plans, and details in architectural or civil engineering realms. 
  • Experience with lighting and electrical plan production. 
  • Proficiency in Revit, GIS, SketchUp, Photoshop, Acrobat, AGI32, Bluebeam, Illustrator, Rhino, and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE 90.1 and 189.1, CDOT standards, LEED, the National Electrical Code, and electrical utility standards. 


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

  • Salary range: $67,000-$83,500 per year.
