CADD TECHNICIAN I, FULL TIME 


Help bring lighting and electrical designs to life through clear, accurate drafting that supports impactful projects in the built environment. 


ROLE OVERVIEW 

We are looking for a CADD Technician I who is excited about contributing to real projects from day one while building strong technical drafting skills on the path to a career in CADD. In this role, you will support project teams by preparing basic drawings, plans, details, and layouts using CADD software under the guidance of senior technicians, designers, and project managers. 

This role exists to help project teams produce accurate, consistent documents to Clanton’s high drafting standards. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys design details, likes solving problems, and wants to keep learning new tools and techniques in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Contribute to plans, details, diagrams, and basic layouts for a wide variety of lighting and electrical projects using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit. 
  • Prepare drawings and project documentation under the guidance of senior technicians, designers, and project managers. 
  • Use and help develop graphic standards that support consistency and clarity across project deliverables. 
  • Build skills toward performing quality control reviews of drawings and documents. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with project managers and designers while taking ownership of deadlines and maintaining a strong commitment to quality. 


WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 

In your first 6 to 12 months, success in this role will mean producing accurate drafting work that supports project teams, asking strong questions to understand project requirements, and steadily improving your speed, accuracy, and confidence with Clanton’s tools and standards. You will be a dependable contributor who communicates clearly, stays organized across assignments, and continues building technical skills through day-to-day project work. 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Associate of Applied Science degree in CADD, or a CADD certificate with at least one completed AutoCAD course. 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, with working knowledge of MicroStation, Revit and ArcGIS helpful. 
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings. 
  • Willingness to independently learn new software and tools. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with active listening skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively in Clanton’s hybrid model based from the Boulder, Colorado office. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • One year of relevant experience. 
  • Proficiency in GIS, SketchUp, Photoshop, Acrobat, AGI32, Bluebeam, Illustrator, Rhino, and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE 90.1 and 189.1, CDOT standards, LEED, the National Electrical Code, and electrical utility standards. 


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

  • Salary range: $58,710-$65,920 per year. 
  • Health, dental, disability, and life insurance with no monthly premium for employees.
