Job Description:

Your primary responsibility is to transform innovative ideas into impactful ventures through strategic storytelling and project delivery. Leveraging key City Innovations frameworks such as Lean Canvas, Jobs to Be Done (JTBD), Market Validation Funnel, Google Design Sprints, and Agile, you will ensure our solutions exceed client expectations with sustainable and scalable results.

In this pivotal role, you will not only design and execute new business plans and strategies but also create narratives that resonate deeply with customers, investors, and key stakeholders. Your ability to tell a powerful story will shape the perception and success of our ventures, fostering long-term relationships and driving client satisfaction through proactive engagement and strategic guidance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the “Storyteller” by developing and communicating compelling narratives that effectively convey the vision, value proposition, and strategic goals of new ventures. Ensure these stories resonate with customers, investors, and key stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, leading the strategic and operational aspects of project delivery from inception to completion.
  • Actively engage in the design and execution of new business plans and strategies to drive the launch of innovative services and products. 
  • City Innovations’ Framework Application and Execution:
  • Utilize the Lean Canvas for rapid business model validation, identifying viable market opportunities and defining clear, measurable metrics.
  • Apply the Jobs to Be Done framework to deeply understand client needs and tailor solutions that directly address those needs.
  • Conduct experiments and validations using the Market Validation Funnel to refine product features and market strategies.
  • Facilitate Google Design Sprints to rapidly prototype and test ideas, reducing time to market and enhancing product-market fit.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to manage the deliverables and assist with change orders, pricing and delivery.
  • Create a Client Satisfaction NPS program to understand customer satisfaction and identify metrics/areas of improvement.
  • Gather feedback from customers regarding their experiences with the services and products and communicate this feedback to the product development team to inform future improvements.
  • Drive growth by “being a farmer”, ensuring customer renewals and identifying new opportunities for upselling or expanding the client portfolio and the usage of the services within existing customer accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across the organization, including venture architecture, product development, sales, marketing, and support, to align efforts and ensure a cohesive approach to customer budget and client success.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in an executive leadership role within delivery or product management, with a proven track record of successful project execution and client management.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, Human Centered Design or a related field a plus
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to empathize with clients, understanding their business needs and challenges to better serve them.


Work Environment - Office

In this role, your primary work environment will be your home office, complemented by our co-working space in Grand Rapids, MI. Our teams work virtually but co-work is expected between 9am to 5pm Eastern.
