ASSISTANT SESH MANAGER 



SUMMARY 


The Assistant Sesh Manager is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing daily operations, staffing execution, and on-shift performance at Cirrus Social Club. This role ensures that each shift operates smoothly, safely, and in alignment with Cirrus service standards, brand expectations, and compliance requirements.

The Assistant Sesh Manager regularly serves as Manager on Duty (MOD) and is entrusted with full responsibility for operations during assigned shifts. While acting as MOD, this role supervises all hourly employees, manages labor and cash controls, and serves as the primary on-site decision-maker, reporting directly to the Sesh Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES


Daily Operations & Shift Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and guest-ready service during all assigned shifts
  • Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained in alignment with business volume and labor targets
  • Serve as the on-shift leader for all hourly employees, providing direction, supervision, and support
  • Ensure all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures are executed accurately and on time

Manager on Duty (MOD) Responsibilities

  • Act as designated Manager on Duty during assigned shifts, serving as the on-site authority while the business is open
  • Authorized to lock and unlock the facility and arm/disarm building security systems
  • Ensure all operational, safety, and compliance checklists are completed during the shift
  • Actively work the floor, supporting guest service by assisting with food, beverage, and cannabis service as needed
  • Address guest concerns, service recovery, and on-shift issues promptly and professionally

People Management & Labor Oversight

  • Supervise and manage all on-shift hourly employees, including task assignment, break management, and workflow adjustments
  • Coach staff in real time to reinforce service standards, compliance, and professionalism
  • Monitor daily labor costs and make staffing adjustments as appropriate
  • Communicate staffing issues, performance concerns, or notable incidents to the Sesh Manager

Cash Handling & Financial Controls

  • Responsible for all cash handling procedures during assigned shifts
  • Ensure accurate completion of shift drops, cash counts, and required documentation
  • Maintain strict adherence to cash control policies and escalation procedures
  • Report discrepancies, variances, or concerns immediately to the Sesh Manager

Compliance & Operational Integrity

  • Ensure daily operations comply with company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Make real-time decisions to protect guest safety, staff safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Escalate significant incidents, compliance issues, or disciplinary matters to the Sesh Manager as required
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive guest or employee information

Collaboration & Leadership Support

  • Serve as a trusted extension of the Sesh Manager during daily operations
  • Provide clear communication, shift reporting, and follow-through on operational priorities
  • Reinforce Cirrus standards through visible, hands-on leadership on the floor


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in hospitality, restaurant, or guest-service leadership roles
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise teams and manage live-service operations
  • Strong understanding of labor control, cash handling, and shift accountability
  • Ability to remain composed and decisive in fast-paced, guest-facing environments
  • Professional presence with strong communication and leadership skills


COMPLIANCE & ELIGIBILITY

  • Must meet all local and state eligibility requirements to work in a cannabis-adjacent business
  • Required certifications, permits, and trainings must be obtained and maintained
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business demands


PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
  • Ability to lift,with assistance, objects up to 50lbs on a regular basis 
  • Ability to respond quickly to operational or safety needs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-touch hospitality environment
